Lake Keowee is located in the northwest corner of South Carolina and the southwest corner of North Carolina.

It consists of approximately 18,000 acres with 300 miles of shoreline.  Only about one quarter of the shoreline has been developed resulting in a lake which is perfect for boating, fishing (site of a professional bass tournament each year), sailing and other activities.

It is owned by Duke Energy Corp. which controls the lake frontage and water level.  Lake Keowee property owners own to the waterfront.

At Lake Keowee the list of leisure activities is seemingly endless.  Additionally, golf, white water rafting, visiting Jocassee State Park, hiking, camping, and water skiing are available.

The closest city, Seneca, SC (about 1 mile from the southern end of the lake), has a quaint downtown shopping area, restaurants, as well as all the fast track merchants of most American cities.  Also, ten minutes to Clemson University.
